DAVID J. LEONARD

Expert Witness Practice

David J. Leonard is a founding Partner of Leonard & Felker, PLC. and a founding Member of David J. Leonard, PLC. David helps clients in complex real estate and business transactions and the litigation of real estate, insurance, legal malpractice, and complex commercial matters. David also provides expert witness services for legal malpractice, insurance coverage and bad faith and real estate matters.

Education & Memberships

David received his B.A. degree (Magna Cum Laude) in 1962 from the University of Arizona and his J.D. degree (Magna Cum Laude) in 1964 from the University of Arizona Law School. David is admitted to practice in both the State and Federal Courts of Arizona and California and in the U.S. Supreme Court. David has earned a “Pre-eminent” A rating from Martindale-Hubbel, has been listed in Best Lawyers in America since its initial publication in 1982 and is included in Southwest Superlawyers.

David has taught real estate finance at the University of Arizona College of Law and has been a member of the Local Rules for Federal District Courts (Chairman), the State Bar Civil Rules and Pima County Rules Committees; he has been vice-chairman of the Antitrust Council.

Personal

David was raised in New York City and moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1958 to attend the University of Arizona.  He and his wife, Judith, have lived in Tucson, Washington, D.C., London and California.  They have three children and eighteen grandchildren in the U.S. and Israel.  David enjoys traveling, celebrating joyous occasions with family and friends, walking with his wife, learning Torah and history and listening to music. He hates riding his stationary bicycle but does it anyway.

Practice Areas

In addition to his extensive experience in complex commercial litigation, insurance coverage and the negotiation of business and real estate agreements, David has, for over forty years, served as a litigation consultant and as an expert witness in a variety of business matters including legal malpractice, attorneys fees, Rules of Professional Conduct, real estate disputes, insurance coverage and insurance bad faith.
