James “Jim” Marvel has been assisting individuals with their personal estate planning for over 44 years, representing clients in the states of Arizona, California and Iowa.  His practice includes Charitable Gift Planning, Estate Planning, Pre- and Post-Death Tax Planning, Probate and Trust Administration. He has joined the firm Leonard & Felker, P.L.C. as “of counsel” and fits right into the culture of the Firm in assisting clients in a personal and dedicated manner.

Education & Memberships

Jim received his B.A. degree with honors in 1970 from the University of Iowa and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.  Jim received his J.D. degree with distinction in 1973 from the University of Iowa College of Law. Further, Jim received an L.L.M. degree in Estate Planning in 1987 from the University of Miami.  Jim was admitted to practice to the State Bars of Iowa in 1973, California in 1987, and Arizona in 1992. Jim is a member of the Pima County Bar Association.

Personal

Jim married his wife, Judy, in 1969 and they have 3 children and 8 grandchildren.  Jim enjoys volunteer work that includes speaking for the Salvation Army, Family Life Radio, Interfaith Community Services, the NW Tucson YMCA, and several other local churches and charitable organizations. He is a retired national certified youth soccer referee, instructor and assessor.  Jim currently enjoys biking and time spent with his wife, children and grandchildren.
